Cookie policy

This Privacy Policy sets out the rules for storing and accessing information on the User's devices using Cookies, used to provide services provided electronically requested by the User, by the Warsaw University of Technology based in Warsaw (postal code 00-661), Pl. Polytechnic 1.

§ 1. Definitiations

  1. Administrator - means the Warsaw University of Technology based in Warsaw (postal code 00-661), Pl. Politechniki 1, REGON: 000001554, which provides services electronically and stores and accesses information on the User's devices. 

  2. Cookies - means IT data, in particular small text files, saved and stored on devices through which the User uses the Website's websites. 

  3. Administrator's Cookies - means Cookies placed by the Administrator, related to the provision of electronic services by the Administrator via the Website. 

  4. External Cookies - means Cookies placed by the Administrator's partners via the Website. 

  5. Website - means the website under which the Administrator runs the website, operating in the domain www.pw.edu.pl

  6. Device - means an electronic device through which the User gains access to the Website's websites. 

  7. User - means an entity to which, in accordance with the Regulations and legal provisions, services may be provided electronically or with which an Agreement for the provision of electronic services may be concluded.

§ 2. Types of cookies used

  1. Cookies used by the Administrator are safe for the User's Device. In particular, it is not possible to get viruses or other unwanted software or malware into Users' Devices this way. These files allow you to identify the software used by the User and customize the Website individually for each User. Cookies usually contain the name of the domain from which they come, the time they are stored on the Device and the assigned value. 

  2. The administrator uses two types of cookies:

    1. Session cookies: are stored on the User's Device and remain there until the end of the browser session. The saved information is then permanently deleted from the Device's memory.

    2. Persistent cookies: are stored on the User's Device and remain there until they are deleted. Ending a given browser session or turning off the Device does not delete them from the User's Device.

§ 3. Purposes for which Cookies are used

  1. The Administrator uses its own Cookies to authenticate the user on the website and ensure the user's session on the website, in particular to:

    1. maintaining the Website User's session (after logging in), thanks to which the User does not have to re-enter the login and password on each subpage of the Website;

    2. correct configuration of selected functions of the Website, enabling in particular verification of the authenticity of the browser session. 

  2. The Administrator uses its own Cookies to carry out processes necessary for the full functionality of the websites, in particular to:

    1. adapting the content of the Website's websites to the User's preferences and optimizing the use of the Website's websites. In particular, these files allow you to recognize the basic parameters of the User's Device and properly display the website, tailored to your individual needs; 

  3. The Administrator uses its own Cookies for analysis, research and audience auditing, and in particular to create anonymous statistics that help to understand how Website Users use the Website's websites, which allows improving their structure and content.

  4. Cookies are not used by the Administrator to retrieve any personal data or any confidential information from the User's Device.

§ 4. Possibility to determine the conditions of storage or access via Cookies

  1. The User may independently change the cookie settings at any time, specifying the conditions for storing them and accessing the User's Device via Cookies. The User can change the settings referred to in the previous sentence using the web browser settings or via the service configuration. These settings can be changed in particular in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform about each time a cookie is placed on the User's device. Detailed information about the possibilities and methods of handling cookies is available in the software (web browser) settings.

  2. The User may delete Cookies at any time using the available functions in the web browser he uses. 

  3. Restricting the use of cookies may affect some of the functionalities available on the Website. If you use this option, you will be able to use the Website, except for functions that by their nature require cookies.
